  • INSTRUCTOR OF THE MONTH

    Each month Miller-Motte College Online Division will feature an outstanding instructor as the INSTRUCTOR OF THE MONTH. Selection for this honor is based on service to the school, professionalism, instruction, and inspiration. At the conclusion of each quarter, the College will recognize INSTRUCTOR OF THE TERM. At the end of each year, an INSTRUCTOR OF THE YEAR is chosen and is in the running for the DELTA EDUCATOR OF THE YEAR AWARD. Please join us in recognizing an outstanding instructor as the next Instructor of the Month.

    RENEE CLARK - APRIL Instructor of the Month

    Renee Clark is a judge and lawyer with vast experience as both an online and on-ground educator and course developer in the areas of business, psychology, legal studies and criminal justice. She serves as an Administrative Law Judge for Environmental Protections and Growth Management and as a Magistrate for civil traffic infractions. She has served in the capacity of Special Master presiding over County Code and Ordinance violations for over two decades and as an arbitrator for the enforcement of Lemon Law violations.  Ms. Clark is a licensed and active member of The Florida Bar and a Florida Supreme Court certified mediator. She has served on the Continuing Education Committee of The Florida Bar for many years and was recently appointed by the Bar to serve as a member at large for the Traffic Court Rules Committee. On a local level, Ms. Clark served as a member of the Solo Practitioner’s Committee and the Quality of Life/Stress Management Committee of the county’s local Bar Association. Ms. Clark is an experienced educator with a passion for her students. She has earned a Juris Doctor (JD) degree in law and jurisprudence as well as a Master’s of Science (MS) degree in Psychology.

    On a personal level, Ms. Clark is a travel enthusiast with a passion for adventure. She rides a Harley-Davidson Fat Boy and is a proud, active member of the Harley Owner's Group (HOG) and Ladies of Harley (LOH)!  She is an ardent racquetball player, gardener and animal lover! She shares her home with four cats, two Golden Doodles and a ferret, all of whom get along quite well!

    SHAUNA HAYES - WINTER Instructor of the Term

    Shauna is an online English/Literature Instructor and designs online courses.  She received her Master of Arts in English from the Citadel and College of Charleston in 2004.  While working on her Masters, Shauna was the Editor of the College of Charleston Newsletter as well as the Assistant Editor of two of the College’s Literary Magazines: Crazyhorse and Illuminations.  This inspired a love for editing that she continues to pursue today. Shauna assists local campuses and Pearson Publishing to help improve online learning, textbook choices and is involved in the review process of unpublished textbooks.

    Shauna became a teacher because she has a passion for the written word and wants to share this passion with others.  She enjoys helping students grasp the knowledge needed to pursue their dreams and achieve their personal goals.  After teaching for several years at the Charleston, South Carolina Miller-Motte Campus, Shauna branched out into online teaching.  She enjoys the flexibility and challenges that it brings.  She strives to reach each and every student personally to bridge the gap between instructor and student in the virtual world.

    Shauna has combined her experience through years of teaching and her passion for writing into her work as a course designer. Shauna enjoys the opportunity to design online courses that stimulate every type of learning personality in order to reach every student.  

    In her spare time Shauna enjoys spending time with her family, yoga, hiking, and running. Shauna is studying to earn her yoga teacher certification.
